Handspun handknitted vest. Round neck, with an interpretation of one of Ralph Hotere's drawings. This was part of an exhibition organised by Jade Townsend. Twenty five artists responded to Hone Tuwhare's poem "Hotere". It celebrated friendships between artists. @hauhake for more information.
Jade's words "Harry is a photographer and textile artist passionate about inter-generational friendships and knowledge exchange to inspire collaborative textiles and garments. Harry is learning about the origin of her materials, mainly wool, to deepen her aroha for Aotearoa's whenua and animals."
I loved being part of a group show, thank you Jade.
This vest is a one off. It had been tried on and touched by visitors, but in perfect condition, just has had a bit more love. The price reflects this.
Handspun Merino/Romney wool. Untreated and undyed. This wool is 20.8 and 20.7 microns. The smaller the micron measurement, the finer and softer. It is lovely and soft.
Handspun by Jill and handknitted by Rosemary and Tricia.
